Position Information:

The Ottawa Hospital is seeking an experienced project management professional for an exciting opportunity to serve as Project Manager.

This position is temporary until approximately April 30, 2024.


Rotation/Shifts:

Days, 8 hour shifts.


Salary Information:


Please note that this salary is under review, and in the interim the salary range above includes a temporary market premium.


What you will do:


Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Executive, this role will manage the implementation plan for The Ottawa Hospital's Education Strategy.


The Project Manager leads the planning and delivery of strategic projects/initiatives, coordinates the delivery of assigned projects, and ensures delivery within scope, budget, and requirements.

This role interacts with multiple department and stakeholders, including physicians and colleges/universities.


Responsibilities include:

  • Manages the planning and delivery of projects/initiatives that are of strategic importance to multiple departments, or the organization.
  • Manages several projects and initiatives, supporting a culture of innovation and datainformed decisionmaking at the hospital.
  • Engages with project teams, management team, senior leaders, physicians across TOH, and external stakeholders.
  • Acts as the resource person for various committees associated with the projects and is responsible for stakeholder engagement, workplan development, ensuring that milestones are met and that the projects are achieving their objectives.
  • Develops project strategies, frameworks, and recommendations based on a strong understanding of evaluation principles.

What you will bring:


  • 4year Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or in a healthrelated field;
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in project management;
  • Minimum two (2) years' leadership experience;
  • Strong experience of managing strategic projects, championing change and adaptability to changing environment;
  • Understanding of program planning principles, design development process and operational readiness principles;
  • Ability to build strong relationships with project teams, business stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership team;
  • Experience with preparing and delivering presentations, with report writing, writing briefing notes for Senior Management and with implementing and evaluating business plans;
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with project stakeholders and to manage client relationships and expectations;
  • Ability to implement, facilitate, lead change, and to propose process improvements and valueadded initiatives;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, combined with excellent organizational skills to include the ability to chair and facilitate meetings with stakeholders.

You will stand out with:


  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or equivalent professional experience;
  • Proficiency in English and French oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
