We are a leading school uniform manufacturer based in Mississauga seeking an Account Manager. We require someone with experience in the apparel industry. Must have good interpersonal skills.
POSITION:
Uniform Merchandiser
REPORTS TO:
Production Manager
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES:
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for communicating daily with suppliers by following up on open purchase orders and ensuring on-time deliveries.
TASK MANAGEMENT:
- Review tech packs, designs and artwork.
- Discuss any questions/concerns with sales to understand their requirements/spec/grading/construction/decoration.
- Review and submit any embellishments for strike off samples for client approval.
- Review samples/embellishments, size specs and construction before submitting to client for approval.
- Relay all information regarding production (including purchase orders and instructions) to all suppliers including cutting, sewing, printing and embroidery and ensure they are all coordinated.
- Communicate with vendors on a daily basis and respond to all requests in a timely manner. Work to develop and execute corrective action plans for exception and/or late delivery.
- Follow up on shipping status to ensure goods are delivered on time. Proactively anticipate problems and bring proposed solution to the Supervisor's attention.
- Determine progress of work and provide information on changes in processing methods.
- Enter purchase orders in the system and prepare breakdowns for vendors.
- Review invoices and packing lists against purchase order for payment to vendors.
- Receive final product into warehouse and QC delivery.
- Complete other tasks and assignments as required by management
- Ensure time & materials allocated to correct client docket.
QUALITY:
- Follow all ISO & SQF policies as relates to Quality and Food Safety.
FOOD SAFETY:
- Follow all ISO & SQF policies as relates to Quality and Food Safety.
- Always communicate Health & Safety and food safety rules to other staff, as applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
(Skills/Education/Experience)
- Minimum 5 years in fashion/garment production.
- College or University level degree in fashion design and technology.
- Understanding of knit fabrics and garment construction.
- Sound knowledge of sewing procedures, seams as well as embroidery and printing methods.
- Excellent knowledge of garment sizing and grade rules
- Proficient in Windows programs (Excel, Adobe Illustrator).
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) providing full attention to what other people are saying, taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and ensuring accurate information transfer.
- Advanced judgement and decision making skills considering the relative costs and benefits to potential actions and to choose the most appropriate ones.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work alone and with a team.
- Detail oriented.
