Duties:


  • Provide clinical support in the delivery of psychological assessment services within the community Mental Health Program, under the supervision of a supervising psychologist
  • Respond to service consultation requests for psychological services in a timely fashion under the supervision of the supervising psychologist.
  • Testing and scoring of psychometric measures used in clinical assessment, under the supervision of a supervising psychologist
  • Contribute to the triage system for client waiting lists.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary care planning.
  • Assist with the development and provision of a new assessment and consultation support service to the Regional Dual Diagnosis Consultation Team.
  • Provide research support to the teams.
  • Assist with the preparation of educational presentations to hospital, community, and academic audiences.
  • Attend program/service meetings as required.
  • Contribute to furthering the goals of the Discipline of Psychology at The Royal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including program committees and program administrative work.
  • Provide service in community settings, travelling by car, throughout the Champlain Region and occasionally to BMHC.
  • Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of the Royal.

Qualifications:


  • Masters degree in Psychology from an accredited university with appropriate training.
  • Experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
  • Clinical experience with communitybased mental health services and persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of techniques to effectively communicate with patients who have severe psychiatric, sensory and/or cognitive problems.
  • Knowledge of psychometric tests and assessment procedures appropriate for use with a range of adolescent and adult clients, including those with developmental disabilities.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and quality improvement.
  • Ability to work actively and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and with other service providers.
  • Ability to respond to consultations in an effective and timely manner.
  • Familiarity with the standards of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
  • A valid driver's licence, access to a reliable vehicle, and the use of a car for work purposes.
  • English level A in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading and writing is mandatory. Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.

Salary Range:

to 51.98 per hour
