The Opportunity:


Are you a Transportation & Logistics (T&L) professional looking for the next challenge in your career? Canadian Natural is Canada's largest independent oil and gas producer, executes over $30 million in air, ocean and ground freight transport spread over 60 thousand material shipments annually.


The T&L Representative is a key position that works with the Transportation and Logistics team that ensures timely and accurate coordination of transportation services for the Supply Management team.

Your work and accomplishments will contribute to the overall success of our Oil Sands and Thermal In Situ operations. Effective delivery of supplies and materials to our project and operations teams is essential to Canadian Natural's continued success.

Key Accountabilities:


  • Assist with the coordination and management of transportation services including: trucking, expedited freight and heavy haul, project cargo, air freight and ocean freight
  • Work with logistics service providers and provide guidance for projects; advise buyers on proper use of INCOTERMS 2010
  • Actively and consistently promote Canadian Natural's core value of Safety

Shift Schedule: 5X2, Monday - Friday (9AM-6PM)

  • A valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License or equivalent is required

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 3 years of related industry experience in Transportation & Logistics
  • Expertise in: warehousing and distribution, dangerous goods transportation, ground, sea and air, customs documentation and compliance
  • Business or Technical Diploma, CITT (Canadian Institute of Traffic & Transportation) or P.Log (Professional Logistician) designation preferred or equivalent years of applicable experience
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to gather information, analyze alternatives, plan & develop recommendations to execute work in a value added manner
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to reprioritize tasks quickly in a fastpaced changing environment through frequent interruptions and changing deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to use 3GTMS, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), ADP Open Invoice, E1, ComplyWorks & Maximo PD software systems
  • Knowledge of Domestic and International courier services, LTL, FTL, dedicated charter (inland, ocean & airfreight)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Domestic and International documentation requirements including customs, duties, import & export shipments & Incoterms
  • Demonstrated ability to expedite movement of materials/freight from domestic and International origins exercising sound judgement based on assessment of cost, risk, availability of resources and business area requirements
