Laboratory Analyst, Group Leader (Full-time)

As a Laboratory Analyst - Group Leader, your main responsibilities are to:

Contribute to the overall and technical operation of P11 Group, and to ensure that P11 Solids team follows established procedures and instructions for reporting quality data.


  • Lead and monitor workload using summary/NEWTAT and prioritize shift activities to meet test deadlines and workstation targets.
  • Maintain adequate communication with the various Operations groups, Customer Service team and all other relevant sections of organization to update sample processing status and meet established TAT/hold times and customer expectations.
  • Proficient and knowledgeable in all procedures within scope.
  • Identify problems and nonconformances and contribute to solution through corrective action and prevention. Assist in performing and completing NSC/CAR investigations.
  • Coordinate nonroutine Solids projects with Inorganic Scientific Specialist.
  • Allocate staff based on technical ability, set benchmarks for the team and manage production.
  • Train and validate Lab Technicians, Analysts and approve/validate data generated.
  • Ensure standardized training within "P11 group" for quality results.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • Perform instrument and method troubleshooting.
  • Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations and promptly report any Near hits/unsafe conditions and/or behaviours.
  • Keep their work area clean, neat and organized.
  • Contribute to daily and weekly planning.
  • Ensure monthly sign off of all relevant documents including but not limiting to verification of lab apparatus, log books and FCD's.
  • Recognise and report resource shortfalls to their supervisor/Manager.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.

You are the ideal Laboratory Analyst - Group Leader, if:

  • Post-secondary education in Science from an approved institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and more than 3 years' experience in analytical testing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient and knowledgeable in all procedures within scope.
  • Good record keeping skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and instructions.
  • Dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook and a "cando" attitude.

Shift schedule will be Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
