Motor Coach Driver - Quesnel, Canada - Rocky Mountaineer
Description
The Motor Coach Driver reports into the Station Manager and is responsible for ensuring excellence in guest satisfaction, while safely transporting guests to and from the station and hotel.
The Motor Coach Driver completes general cleaning and monitors maintenance requirements of the motor coach to ensure that the motor coach presentation effectively represents the RM brand.
Key Areas of Accountability
Provide world-class service to guests while transporting guests in order to deliver on RM's brand promise enabling the creation of life changing experiences for guests.
- Greeting guests at the station and hotel, assisting them in boarding and exiting the motor coach;
- Welcoming guests to the community by responding to guest questions and providing professional commentary regarding the Quesnel area;
- Effectively communicating logĂstical information (pick up times and locations) to guests;
- Providing transportation for staff as required;
- Pickup and delivery of luggage or other supplies as directed, ensuring safe and secure loading and offloading of guest luggage;
- Ensuring luggage and motor coach are safe and secure at all times;
- Operating motor coach in a safe manner, in accordance with all motor vehicle and highway traffic laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of the guests, luggage and vehicle; and
- Maintaining contact with station staff regarding scheduling delays or concerns.
Responsible for motor coach cleaning and maintenance to ensure motor coaches effectively represent the RM brand.
- Completing predeparture inspections and other required vehicle safety checks;
- Identifying motor coach maintenance requirements, coordinate with Station Manager to have maintenance performed;
- Performing general interior cleaning of the motor coach, ensuring that it meets the RM "white glove standard"; and
- Other duties as assigned to ensure effective station management.
Adhere to RM's safety and security standards so that safety hazards and concerns are mitigated/reduced for RM guests, team members, and partners.
- Compliance with all safety and security regulations.
- Execute destinations safety and emergency response procedures and instructions.
- Works with a safetyfirst mindset and encourages other to build a culture of safety at RM.
Qualifications
Education, Certification, Licenses
- Class 1 or Class 2 Drivers License and clean drivers abstract.

- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Energetic, motivated, hardworking and committed to Guest Service Excellence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Work Environment
- Irregular scheduling to ensure the effective Station operations, including availability on evenings and weekends as per arrivals/departures schedules. Overtime may be required for irregular operations or scheduling delays.
- Outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions and working around railway tracks and moving trains.
Eligibility
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 5070 pounds
- Must be legally allowed to work in Canada for the duration of the operating season (April midOctober)
