Employment and Settlement Services committed to build and maintain the best possible employment service delivery by promoting innovation and best practice, providing consulting services, developing and delivering excellent training for members of our community; engaging employers and business community; and supporting community networks.

Reporting to Supervisor for Community Engagement the
Trainer, Employability and Career Development is an internal resource in the development and dynamic delivery of client training initiatives that support client career development, outreach, coordination and referral initiatives between various services.

The training specialists applies adult learning expertise to the planning, design and implementation of wide range or training programs, informational and educational activities to identify and meet staff, client and stakeholder training needs across the programs.

Training Specialists will have an extensive background in career counselling, knowledgeable in cutting edge career resources and labour market information.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibilities include curriculum development for the Employment and Settlement Services Site that includes materials design and delivery, and ensuring consistent standards for learning and knowledge transfer for all clients/participants.
  • Provide employment training to staff in job search techniques, referral skills, career resources and labour market information.
  • Develop comprehensive workshop and information session content and delivery models which align with the Employment and Settlement Services objectives.
  • Superior skills and excellence in building and maintaining relationship with clients/program participants and members of our community and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable skills and experience in delivering hybrid workshops, training and information sessions across all facets of settlement, employment and job search needs.
  • Demonstrate project management competencies to meet training and outreach program targets effectively and efficiently.
  • Take active outreach role in establishing partnership, coordinating sessions, workshops, and guest speaker events for Dixon Hall's program clients and partner agencies' clients.
  • Stay current with knowledge of the latest client training needs, trends, and innovative delivery techniques, and partner agencies programs and services, act as a resource person providing information to team members as identified necessary.
  • Establish and maintain the agency's online network platform and database with regular updates.
  • Actively participate in meetings and events as relevant to the training and program goals.
  • Adhere to agency and program policies and procedures, ensuring the delivery of services aligns with established standards.
  • Regularly conduct community needs assessments and develops new workshops and trainings based on those assessments and the various program requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow employees in program development and across different departments, working cohesively to deliver highquality training and resources.
