Opportunity:

MacEwan University invites applicants for a full-time continuing Customer Service Representative I opportunity with our Sport and Wellness Department.

As a Customer Service Representative I, you will provide high-quality front-line service to the guests of MacEwan University Sport and Wellness in a friendly, welcoming manner that promotes a sense of belonging for all individuals and groups coming to the facility, including students, employees, and the public at large.

Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and coordinate access into and throughout the facility.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate services.
  • Complete registration and maintenance processes for memberships, parking, locker rental/towel service, courses and services, pro shop sales, etc.
  • Actively involved in managing and completing tasks such as equipment rentals & set up, laundry, basic cleaning, access to classes, etc.
  • Respond to First Aid emergencies and complete basic risk management tasks.
  • Appropriately respond to customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints. Effective conflict management.

SKILLS:


You will have:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, problemsolving, and both time/conflict management skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to respond well under pressure in a fastpaced environment, multitask, and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Comfortable using computers and various software, including Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and SharePoint.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A oneyear college certificate, beneficial if in the fields of physical education and/or public relations.
  • Minimum of one year of experience.
  • Experience in customer service, financial transactions, and the fitness and physical education fields.
  • Experience with IntelliManager software is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Current in the following certifications:
  • Intermediate First Aid/CPR C
  • Automatic External Defibrillator
  • Oxygen Therapy Certificate (an asset but not required)
  • Able to work regular opening shifts Tuesday to Saturday (Tuesday
  • Friday 5:15 am 1:15 pm and Saturday 7:30 am 3:30 pm) with flexibility.
  • The successful incumbent will be required to obtain a Police Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check at their own cost.
