Position Description:
The Department of Surgery is a leader in academic medicine, our educational and research missions support excellent and innovative clinical programs across our teaching hospitals.
The MUHC is one of McGill's major teaching hospitals affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada's internationally renowned McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec.
The McGill University Multi-Organ Transplant and Donation Program is dedicated to the achievement of excellence in clinical transplant patient care, research, and education.
Job Duties:
McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Applicants must:
- Hold a medical degree and must hold, or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec;
- Have completed subspecialty training in General Surgery and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent);
- Have completed at least a twoyear accredited multiorgan transplant fellowship;
- Minimally invasive surgical expertise, live donor expertise and pediatric transplant training as well as expertise in organ preservation techniques such as NRP and exvivo organ perfusion will be considered an asset;
- Additional graduate training in the form of MSc, PhD, or a second year of clinical fellowship is strongly recommended for all surgical hires and will also be considered an asset;
