Print Production Manager
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operates various types of digital printing equipment.
- Reviews client requests to understand the scope and parameters of print jobs.
- Accurately reads and interprets a work order, performs quality assurance measures postproduction
- Sets up, sizes, color corrects, and manipulates images for print
- Determines quantities required for the print job.
- Performs colour matches for print jobs per job request.
- Loads material, aligns and configures printer to run the job using RIP
- Inspects random production samples to evaluate the quality of prints
- Performs routine maintenance on printing machines.
- Maintains a clean area around printing machinery.
- Evaluates projects daily, and on an ongoing basis, to ensure time and quality commitments are kept
- Communicates changes that affect production delivery with colleagues as necessary
- Takes steps required to ensure timeline commitments are made, including working extra hours to meet deadlines
- Scans, uploads, and downloads images
- Assists with ordering supplies (e.g. inks and substrates)
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to operate printing machines.
- Able to bend or kneel frequently.
- Must be able to lift upto 50 pounds at a time
Qualifications:
- Minimum: Post-Secondary degree and/or certificate in digital printing
- Preferred 25 years digital large format print operator familiar with colour correcting image files from monitor to output on various substrates
- Expert knowledge in CS
- Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator in a Mac environment
- Knowledge of Onyx 10 Rip software an asset
- Graphic arts industry, particularly prepress production skills, and related technical processes
- Deadlineoriented, attention to detail
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Able to function well as part of a team in a fastpaced, highdemand environment
