If this sounds like you then SMS Equipment may have just the position you have been searching for SMS Equipment is looking for a Labourer - Yard Helper to join our highly skilled team at our Surrey, BC branch. The shift rotation for this position is 5x2. The hourly rate for this position is $33.31 per hour. Plus applicable premiums.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Confirm all outgoing equipment has been inspected and ready for shipment.
    • Confirm that proper attachments are shipped with the machine and ensure bill of lading corresponds with goods shipped.
    • Ensure bill of ladings have correct hour meter reading information recorded.
    • Check oil and fuel levels are replenished, and units are greased.
    • Ensure cleanliness of equipment meets Komatsu Rents standards.
    • Ensure attachments are inventoried to provide easy access and ease of component transfer.
    • Confirm proper shipping, receiving and other pertinent documentation is completed.
    • Park units in the "work to do" line-up and moves them from shop to "ready to rent" line-up.
    • Maintain and organize equipment in the "ready to rent" line-up and in storage areas.
    • Ensure all machines and attachments are properly labelled with stock numbers, SMS and Komatsu Rents decals.
    • Ensures all rental units are inspected for possible damage.
    • Record deficiencies and repairs needed for rental units.
    • Record last service hours from machines onto receiving reports and notes if service is due.
    • Ensure all attachments have been returned with rental units and notes any missing on receiving reports.
    • Understand how to access specific terminal servers and e-mail system information.

    Qualifications:

    The successful candidate will possess a High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years of industry related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Other requirements include

    • Highly motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment
    • Proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives
    • Good computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
    • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Strong focus on providing valuable customer service
    • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
    • Forklift training, WHMIS, and TDG training certification is an asset. Willing to train the right candidate.
