Position Overview:

The team currently follows a hybrid work model, requiring on-campus presence for several days per week, subject to change based on operational requirements. Travel to support different campus locations will be necessary.

Responsibilities:
Security Services Equipment and Infrastructure:
  • Identifies, assesses, and coordinates the installation and maintenance of security systems and equipment such as cameras, access control, and intrusion alarms. This includes collaborating with internal teams, project managers, and external vendors.
  • Administers access control to authorized staff and students, liaising with relevant stakeholders on access privileges.
  • Conducts risk assessments with Cybersecurity stakeholders to ensure devices meet standards and receive necessary software updates.
  • Coordinates access privileges for various staff members and assigns security coordinators to verify hardware setup and data analysis.
  • Collaborates with IT departments to resolve technical issues related to security platforms and access information.
  • Monitors security system users, establishes access control profiles, and works on security systems projects with Facilities Management and IT teams.
Security Platforms Monitoring:
  • Ensures security systems adhere to industry standards, align with Seneca's direction, and stay relevant.
  • Maintains records for device installations, warranties, and service dates to determine necessary replacements or upgrades.
  • Oversees maintenance and repairs of security platform servers and equipment, obtains quotations from vendors, and ensures proper implementation.
  • Supervises external contractors servicing security systems.
Security Platforms Maintenance and Investigation:
  • Investigates crime incidents across campuses, reviews reports related to surveillance, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Updates policies and procedures concerning security systems, ensuring compliance with regulations and privacy laws.
Security Systems Training:
  • Provides training to security staff on camera surveillance, access control, hardware updates, etc.
  • Develops and maintains training plans for security systems.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Minimum two-year diploma in Computer Networking Studies, IT Security, Systems Analysis, or related field.
  • Preferred certification in Security Systems such as Kantech, Lenel, or Milestone systems.
Experience:
  • Minimum three years of experience in operating and maintaining security systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and risk assessment within security contexts.
  • Experience working with diverse technologies in large-scale security environments.
  • Knowledge of physical installation and technical drawings of security systems is beneficial.
