The Developmental Services Ontario - Toronto Region (DSO-TR) at Surrey Place is seeking an Intake Worker. The Intake Worker will support the DSO-TR by providing intake needs assessments while assisting in maintaining the DSO database. The DSO-TR is the access to services and supports for families in the Toronto Region.
It is one of the 9 regions of DSO whose supports are based upon the legislated principles of citizenship, fairness and equity, accessibility and portability, safety and security, accountability, and sustainability.
The DSO will identify those eligible for Developmental Services and supports.It will help to assess a person's level of need by utilizing standardized measures and will assist families and individuals in understanding the Developmental Service's system in Toronto and what is available for those individuals.
This position reports to the Supervisor, Service Navigators.Main Responsibilities:
- Respond to a high volume of incoming inquiries from families, individuals and agencies.
- Register of new clients in the Surrey Place CRM and DSCIS (DSO) database.
- Provide accurate and timely data input.
- Provide general information regarding DSO services, Passport funding and other MCCSS initiatives.
- Gather information required to complete intake registration.
- Collect intake and referral data and participate in the analysis of data, and compiling reports as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- 2 years of intake or related experience.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and other exceptionalities.
- Knowledge of DSO eligibility criteria and developmental disability adult programs and systems an asset.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated interviewing and active listening skills.
- Fluency in French is considered an asset.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
