Data Science Manager
Summary
This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing the weekly sales and inventory reports and purchasing pre-owned vehicles for given dealerships with an analytical approach.
The role will also be working with the team to address the retail opportunities, and inventory/pricing issues for improved profitability and volume relative to monthly and annual targets.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate and analyze weekly reports relating to new and used car inventory metrics including key factors such as aged inventory, and days supply for each dealership in the group
- Daily auction research and purchasing for specified dealerships
- Run new car price change tasks as needed, and ensure correct execution
- Review reporting and proactively flag inventory/pricing topics with the team
- Identify relevant data, extract, and build new reporting as required
- Evolve into a buyer within the organization, who can extract and analyze data and make informed decisions on purchasing
Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (incl. pivot tables, lookups, visuals)
- An understanding of tact and diplomacy with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A motivated self
- Ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment
- Previous procurement experience is an asset
- Automotive experience/interest is an asset
- Microsoft Power BI experience and ability to write SQL basic queries is an asset
