Full time Term position for English Additional Language (EAL) Itinerant. Duties to commence immediately until June 23, 2023, or until incumbent returns.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Pedagogical and practical knowledge of teaching English as a second/additional language, including theory, learning strategies, stages of language development, individual differences, and language structure
A range of TESL teaching and evaluation and assessment methods, strategies, and skills
Culturally and linguistically responsive teaching methods including the planning and implementation of effective and responsive teaching and learning practices
Demonstrated evidence of how to shape a safe and positive learning environment for students and willingness to engage professionally with colleagues, families and communities
Knowledge of traumainformed teaching practices will be considered an asset
Demonstrated love of learning and an ability to build learner and leadership capacity

Travel to schools within the region may be required.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor of Education
Appropriate Training Methods
Major Required: Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL).

Applicants without the required qualifications or equivalencies may be considered in accordance with Clause d) of the provincial collective agreement.
