Working within the dynamic Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team, you will focus on driving inclusion for a performance-based culture by supporting the development and execution of the Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy.

Ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

You have a proven record of accomplishment as a highly collaborative, organized and results oriented professional who can deepen strategic partnerships and leverage broader Bank stakeholders, systems, and knowledge.

You are passionate about cultural transformation and driving organizational change, ensuring all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.


Your professional skillsets and lived experiences will support the advancement of global DEI strategic initiatives that work to attract, develop, and retain diverse talent at Scotiabank.


You will partner closely with Business and Functional Lines stakeholders as they implement Cohorts of the Global DEI Sponsorship Program.


What you'll be doing...


You will be responsible for supporting the Senior Manager, DEI with key initiatives supporting the Global DEI Strategy, with a primary focus on the Global DEI Sponsorship Program.

You will also be responsible for supporting the advancement on inclusion of LGBT+ employees.

Global DEI Sponsorship Program responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the dedicated support person for the Global DEI Sponsorship Program and throughout the entire Program life cycle (i.e., initiation / planning, execution, & sustainment).
  • Work closely with the Cohort Managers of each Business and Functional Line participating in the Program and join and present at Cohort Advisory Team meetings, when requested.
  • Manage external vendor relationship through contracting, scheduling, and confirming invoicing with Business and Functional Lines.
  • Provide monthly updates on Business and Functional Lineled Cohorts to the Enterprise DEI Team.
  • Review Program guidelines and make appropriate recommendations to enhance Program effectiveness in consultation with the Cohort Advisory Groups, as necessary.
  • Prepare Program status information updates to multiple stakeholder groups, including Inclusion Councils and executive Steering Committee, as required.
  • Build and maintain solid, professional working relationships with peers within the Cohort Advisory Groups. Leverage these relationships to identify issues, make recommendations, and initiate resolutions.
  • Initiation / Planning_
  • Provide guidance on the use of the Sponsorship Playbook to Business and Functional Lines interested in participating in the Global DEI Sponsorship Program.
  • Aid with the Program's needs assessment, when required.
  • Support Cohort Managers in creation of Cohort Sponsorship Program page on SharePoint.
  • Execution_
  • Have regular touch bases with Cohort Managers to provide guidance on all aspects of the Program.
  • Support Cohort Advisory Groups through the Participant Matching Process.
  • Make recommendations for resolutions if issues are identified during by Cohort Managers during the Program.
  • Review and incorporate feedback from Check-In Surveys into the Program design to enhance effectiveness, when necessary.
  • Sustainment_
  • Enable completion flags on Participants employee talent and learning profiles on internal systems.
  • Produce biannually reports that details retention and career movement of graduated Protégés for each Business and Functional Line Cohort.
  • Manage the Global DEI Sponsorship Program's Alumni Community Hub on internal social media platforms (i.e., Yammer, MS Teams, SharePoint, etc.).

LGBT+ portfolio responsibilities will include:

  • Support analysis and reporting dashboards, recommending opportunities for priority areas.
  • Support the collection of data from Content Providers on awards and indices.
  • Support updates internal social media platforms (i.e., Yammer, MS Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned to contribute to the advancement of inclusion for LGBT+ employees.
