    Description

    DUTIES

    Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a bipartite, tenure-track position at the rank of assistant teaching professor in the Respiratory Therapy Program, Allied Health Department, Faculty of Science.

    The successful candidate will be expected to teach on the theory of assessment and application of respiratory therapy practice in a variety of settings which may include any of the following: classroom, laboratory, and simulation environments.

    The successful candidate will teach classes and labs associated with anesthesia and other topics related to respiratory therapy.

    The department has broad interests and seeks a faculty member who demonstrates effective teamwork and communication skills, dissemination of knowledge, and the potential for scholarly activity.

    The anticipated start date is August 1, 2024.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Baccalaureate degree in relevant discipline, Master's degree preferred
    • RRT credential
    • CCAA credential

    A minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy or anesthesia assistant student teaching experience

    Recent respiratory therapy or anesthesia assistant acute care clinical experience of 3 years or greater

    Evidence of effective teamwork and constructive communication skills

    Evidence of dissemination of knowledge at regional, provincial, or national levels

    Evidence of research experience or the potential for scholarly activity and research
