We are Parallel 49 Brewing Company, a craft brewery based in the heart of East Vancouver.

We were founded in 2012 by passionate craft beer enthusiasts and have quickly become a staple in the Canadian craft beer scene.

The Lead Warehouse Operator is responsible for all incoming and outgoing shipments from Parallel 49 Brewing Company's Delta warehouse.

They ensure the safe operation of warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, delegate daily duties to the Delta warehouse team and maintain a clean, lean, and organized warehouse.

This position is a temporary position until August 30, 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be directly responsible for inventory and shipment accuracy at P49 Delta Warehouse.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts (at least once monthly, unless otherwise approved).
  • Set up and authorize stock counts and submit them to management for approval.
  • Report inventory discrepancies to management.
  • Provide coverage for the Warehouse Supervisor in the event they are on vacation or unable to attend work.
  • Coordinate and work directly with the Warehouse Supervisor to identify and improve warehouse practices.
  • Provide input and maintain standard operating procedures for every function of a Delta Warehouse Operator's duties.
  • Provide guidance, supervision and training to warehouse staff.
  • Relay and discuss the development and training goals of new employees at the Delta Warehouse.
  • Report on workers under your supervision to management.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and shipping of goods.
  • Maintain the security of the Delta warehouse
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of the products received.
  • Loading and unloading trucks as required, including returning stock, pallets, etc. to inventory
  • Prepare orders for delivery and shipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts, and implement measures to prevent stock shortages or overages.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Ensure that all products are handled, stored, and shipped in compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow all health and safety guidelines.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs for warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements within the warehouse operations.
  • Collaborate with the Vancouver warehouse to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, including shipping/receiving logs, inventory reports, and equipment maintenance records.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse or similar environment is required, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Counterbalance Forklift and Narrow Aisle Forklift Experience is required(certification is preferred).
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment is required.
  • Experience with inventory management software is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires work in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying. temperatures, loud noises, and potential hazards.
