Planner I (Detail Planning) - 12 Month Limited Term:
The Planner supports the production support team in specific areas of production planning in the manufacturing area.
A Planner in Production support coordinates production sequence within their area and work-station workload while monitoring manufacturing schedule alignment and efficiency.
This role will be creating operational schedules and resource plans to support operations in the manufacturing area.Note:
Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.
What you'll do
- Builds material master data and structures for production work packages that include production material information, material lists and structures to release production shop orders as required by schedule.
- Reviews and collects all information required by production to commence work prior to production start.
- Works with production control tech and capacity planning team, to build the schedules.
- Coordinates contractor and Tier 1 input into work instructions and work packages.
- Schedules material work packages within defined windows (milestone, key event and zone schedules). Ensures material planning, production and program deliverables are aligned.
- Monitors Work In Progress and on time material availability to ensure they remain within the company limits. Prepares reports on progress for management using internal system.
- Works with production and area management to sequence and prioritize manufacturing, assembly and installation activities.
- Reviews material work package data by schedules and budgets into MRP system.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
What you'll bring
- Diploma or Technical certification in Trades or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's degree is desirable.
- 02 years of experience in planning and production control (shipbuilding industry is preferred).
- Experience in using ERP software tools for material and inventory planning (IFS is preferred).
- Experience with building schedules
- Knowledge of modern ship design and production processes.
- Proficient digital literacy in Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and Power BI knowledge.
