As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Ground Support Mechanic Supervisor to join our team at Edmonton International Airport.
Job Overview:
As the Ground Support Mechanic Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of ground support activities at YEG airport.
You will be responsible for leading a team of skilled mechanics, overseeing maintenance and repair tasks on ground support equipment, and collaborating with various departments to maintain a high standard of safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of ground support mechanics.
- Ensure proper staffing levels and schedule adherence to meet operational demands.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Maintenance Oversight:
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance activities on a variety of ground support equipment, including baggage loaders, tugs, and ground power units.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, providing technical expertise to resolve problems promptly.
Compliance and Safety:
- Enforce safety regulations and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions for the maintenance team.
- Collaborate with safety and compliance officers to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Inventory Management:
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
- Coordinate with procurement to source and order necessary parts in a timely manner.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance costs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ground support equipment maintenance.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of aviation safety regulations and industry standards.
- Technical proficiency in diagnosing and repairing ground support equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
