Under the supervision of the General Manager, we are currently seeking a full-time Automotive Level 1 Apprentice to join our rapidly growing team. Primary duties of the position include, but not limited to:

• Helps the buddy technician, as necessary.
• Washing customer cars once service/repairs are complete.
• Conducts safety inspections and does general maintenance and minor repairs, as instructed.
• Performs the work described in the work orders efficiently and accurately, based on the dealer's and manufacturer's standards.
• Restocks the supplies, at the request of the technicians.
• Reports defective or poorly functioning equipment to the supervisor.
• Stores and labels parts if the work is under warranty, or if the customer asks that this be done.
• Examines the vehicle assigned to him/her, to determine if additional maintenance or safety work is required or recommended.
• Documents all work performed and recommended in the work order.
• Keeps uptodate on the manufacturer's technical bulletins.
• Ensures that the shop is clean and tidy.
• Reports any safety issues to management as soon as possible.
• Maintains a professional appearance.
• Performs other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions.
• Perform road tests using safe driving standards.
• Perform all training as required by Subaru Canada.

Preferred Characteristics:

• Strong desire to gain valuable experience in a dealership setting.
• Valid Driver's License (Class G) with a clean driving record.
• Strong aptitude of technical/mechanical repairs.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as a team, managing time and work flow
• Good time management skills.
• A desire to achieve the very best in customer service and teamwork.
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to effectively communicate automotive issues clearly.
