Department Overview

Corporate Segment Finance
Corporate Segment Finance is responsible for enterprise-level analysis, strategic planning advice and reporting for Corporate areas of TDBG.

Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD.

You will work with experienced colleagues, receive world class training, and be part of a community of students across TD, where you will have an impact, grow as individual and experience our culture of care.


Our
Co-op/Intern Programming is offered with select Co-op and Internship roles and is designed to help you better understand the TD business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network.

This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:


  • Leadership talks with key Leaders from across the organization
  • Lunch and Learns on topics such as Innovation
  • Diversity and Inclusion and Personal Branding and so much more

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Perform monthly analysis and reporting of expenses for Corporate Defense Group portfolio. This includes preparation of expense packages including powerpoint decks, designing waterfall charts or graphs as required.
  • Investigate variances and assist in timely resolution of issues and escalate any issues, if required, to Senior Manager.
  • Have a good understanding of accounting principles and standards.
  • Take a proactive role in the quarterly expense forecasting and annual planning processes.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders and ensure a robust forecast and plan is built up, reviewed and agreed upon with the business.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the portfolio; identify and understand risks and challenges and make valueadded recommendations and advice.
  • Gain thorough knowledge of the systems used for expense reporting and analysis.

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an
    undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field; with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term
- understand and interpret financial results

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with key business and finance partners, and other stakeholders
  • Proactive in making recommendations to improve processes and the working environment
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, fastpaced environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • This position is a 4month work term and will commence
    May 1st
