We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join our Procurement team in Victoria BC.

Role Summary

  • Be the interface between Viking and a group of our worldclass aerospace supply chain partners.
  • Be accountable for managing the ongoing and assured supply of aircraft parts and services in line with Viking's requirements.
  • Be responsible for developing and improving the daytoday relationship between Viking and its supply chain partners.
  • Key accountabilities include supplier delivered quality, ontime delivery performance, cost, inventory and vendor continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Issuing RFQs and Purchase Orders for goods and services for In-Direct requirements
  • Management of open purchase orders and vendor performance
  • Maintaining purchase order integrity in line with ERP system and managing exception messages generated from ERP system
  • Working with Viking Supplier Quality Assurance, ensure that all vendors strictly adhere to Viking's Quality Management System
  • Engage fully withy Viking's metricbased performance management system
  • Adhering to material spend and inventory goals
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 25 years of Purchasing and or Procurement experience
  • Experience is the Aerospace sector is a benefit

SKILLS

  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations
  • Experience in LEAN environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence others
