The Emergency Placement Resource (EPR) Coordinator is responsible for the overall supervision and management of several licensed residential care facilities that operate on a seven days a week twenty-four (24) hours basis.

The EPR Coordinator must have effective case management skills, incorporating sound fiscal and administrative management as well as workload management to ensure that the safety and needs of children placed in EPR are met by providing assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation and closure.


Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable sector search), Child Abuse Registry, Adult Abuse Registry and Prior Contact Checks
  • Valid Class 5F Driver's License, access to a personal vehicle and ability to travel within the City of Winnipeg
  • May be required to work overtime, evenings and weekends

Qualifications:

Essentail:

  • Bachelor of Social Worker (BSW) Degree required. Equivalent combination of education in social sciences and related experience may be considered.
  • Experience working with high risk children and youth in a residential care setting
  • Supervisory experience, including but not limited to scheduling, training, leading and performance management
  • Knowledge of the case management process (Intake, assessment, implementation, evaluation and closure)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent problem solving and crisis management skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads, and work on concurrent assignments with strict deadlines
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience preparing and writing clear, concise documents and reports with a high degree of accuracy and for a variety of audiences
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and communities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Desired:

  • Ability to manage budgets including the allocation of funds and record keeping
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act, and the Child and

Family Services Standards Manual:
Volume 2 Facility Standards ( i.e. Residential Licensing Standards)


Duties:


Reporting to the Unit Supervisor, the EPR Coordinator is responsible for developing individual safety plans; serving as a resource for social workers; assisting in identifying and recommending long-term placement plans; building and developing teams; addressing operation matters related to expenditures, licensing and quality standards.
