ROLE PURPOSE

This position will lead Connective's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Program, Learning and Development Initiatives, and bring learning and safety lenses to all Practice and Standards work.


HOURS

  • 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday,

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports and is accountable to the Director of Practice and Standards
  • Participates as a member of the Connective Common Services Team
  • Liaises with community and government agencies as required
  • Liaises with the staff of Connective as required

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

LEARNING
Connective Learning Hub

  • Provide ongoing administrative maintenance of the Connective Learning Hub (CLH) LMS system, in partnership with People & Culture Administrators and IT.
  • Liaise with My Learning Hub LMS platform for troubleshooting and functional queries.
  • Support staff in use of the CLH.
  • Coordinate the development of new courses, focus group testing, and rollout, on a set schedule.
  • Support content creators in the development of new courses.
  • Opportunity to create courses if capacity is available and appropriate.
Continuous Learning Framework

  • Support in the development and evolution of Connective's Continuous Learning Framework.
  • Support staff and management to explore and access educational opportunities within the Framework.
  • Support staff and management in navigating the Framework, and identifying individual and organizational gaps, sourcing options.
Administration

  • Provide administrative support to internal course facilitators (Mandt, Naloxone), including registration, course material compilation etc.
General

  • Participate in Practice and Standards initiatives (such as Connective Learning Hub, Accreditation, annual P&P review) with Learning lens, suggesting and supporting improvements resulting in better service delivery.

SAFETY
Administration and Analysis

  • Provide ongoing administrative support to Connective's OSH program, including but not limited to: managing documentation, managing the OSH Workvivo space, creating and updating templates, researching best practices, developing processes.
  • Hold OSH reps and committees accountable for required work, activities, and documentation, through checklists and collaboration.
  • Compile OSH data and conduct preliminary analysis for management review.
Quality Improvement

  • Create and execute an action plan for improvements to the Connective OSH program based on the Gap Assessment Report (completed by consultant May 2023).
  • Project manage the above, including activities, prioritization, timelines, communication, consultations, change management etc.
Incident and Inspection Support

  • Support staff and management in investigating incidents, including best practices.
  • Support staff and management with inspections by OSH authorities (WorkSafeBC, Yukon Workers' Safety and Compensation Board).
Training and Education

  • Arrange or provide training to staff as requested and required on OSHrelated topics.
General

  • Participate in Practice and Standards initiatives (such as Connective Learning Hub, Accreditation, annual P&P review) with an OSH lens, suggesting and supporting improvements resulting in better service delivery.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Function independently, while remaining a crucial member of the support team
  • Adhere to Connective policies and procedures
  • Primarily remote work with site visits as determined by role needs.
  • Be available to work flexible hours as needed. May include occasional evenings/weekends.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A relevant degree, diploma or certificate, or combination of education and experience
  • At least two years of related/transferable experience
  • Project coordination/management experience beneficial
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite and online meeting platforms
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, high level of accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with team members, clients, partners and stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills (listening, verbal and written)

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check
  • Ability to successfully complete an Enhanced Security Clearance
  • Ability to successfully pass a reference check
  • Proof of Covid19 vaccination
