Community Services Department | Seasonal Full-Time Position (2 month July - August) |Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 4:30pm

The Opportunity
Lacombe County has a great summer opportunity for an individual who wants to work outside for the summer.

The River Weed Inspector is responsible for canoeing the Blindman, Medicine, and Red Deer rivers, hand-picking prohibited noxious and noxious weeds from sensitive areas along the riverbanks.

Key Responsibilities

Pulling weeds, collecting them in a bag in the canoe and dropping them off at the designated locations.
Developing the ability to accurately identify prohibited noxious and noxious weeds.
Incorporating strong boat safety and paddling skills (be able to identify and address obstacles on the river).
Performing responsibilities in a safe and effective mannermust be able to follow safe work practices and abide by all safety policies, rules and regulations.

Key Qualifications

An enthusiastic, friendly and outgoing personality.
A valid Alberta class 5 driver's license (acceptable drivers abstract required upon hire).
Selfmotivated and able to work well with minimum supervision.
Able to perform physical work involving bending, lifting, and moving of light or heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
Must have proven ability to interact with others in a calm, courteous and respectful manner.

The wage for this position starts at $23.06/hr (includes stat and vacation pay)
