Job Summary:

Review and complete warranty claims. Uses technical information sources as needed to complete claims. Reviews, corrects and resubmits claims that have been rejected. Maintains complete and accurate records for warranty claims. Uses computer to submit warranty claims through OWS and to manage information. Co-ordinates and works effectively with other employees to resolve problems with warranty repair orders.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepares and submits claims for warranty or ESP.
  • Maintains outstanding claims schedule(s) with no outstanding claims over 60 days old.
  • Achieves high percentage of claims paid first time submitted.
  • Researches, corrects and resubmits rejected claims within 10 days.
  • Reconciles warranty accounts.
  • Maintains accurate filing system of open claims holding for credit and authorization.
  • Builds productive working relationships; consults with others as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationship with the vehicle manufactures representative.
  • Prioritizes work to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Follows up with the factory and distributors regarding unpaid claims.
  • Identifies and supports opportunities for process improvements.
  • Analyzes problems, identifies trends and develops strategies to maximize claim process.
  • Uses computer and other record keeping systems to manage information.
Position Description


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Ensures all codes, operations, parts and sublet charges of claims are accurate.
  • Applies information found in manuals, publications, bulletins and other documents.
  • Maintains an organized and professional environment.
  • Understands and adheres to Ford warranty and ESP claim procedures.
  • Contact the appropriate warranty claims representative regarding any claims requiring special authorization.
  • Provides technical information and assistance to employees as needed.
  • Verifies history of vehicles prior to claim submission to audit mileage, inservice date and past repair history.
  • Maintains knowledge base on claim procedures, coverage, bulletins, campaigns, etc.
  • Inputs claims and credit memos; prepares outstanding adjustments for variance or unapproved claims.
  • Reports to management of any abuse or fraudulent manipulation of warranty claims.
  • Participates in department and dealership meetings.
  • Reports to management of any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the dealership, its personnel or customers.
  • Adheres to company policies with respect to safety rules and regulations and ensures government legislated safety practices are followed, such as WHIMIS training.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge though ongoing PTS training, meetings, Ford star broadcasts and selfstudy.

Job Qualifications:


  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Two years service automotive experience preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

$45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
