Job Summary
As an

Assistant Technician

for our Waste Management department at the

Laval

location, you will assist in the safe disposal of hazardous material in accordance with all relevant regulations and policies.

In this role,

primary responsibilities

include:
Ensure compliance and safety conditions of the waste storage room.

Inspect regularly the waste storage room to ensure the appropriate segregation of the different hazardous waste (acid, basic, flammable, oxidizing agent, reducer, organic, reagent or others).

Collect the hazardous waste containers for all internal departments.
Ensure compliance of the different waste container identification.
Perform the cleanup of any spill that occurred while performing their duties.
Provide support to all departments, if necessary.
Perform any other reasonable tasks that could be required.

Key Elements
We are looking for the following

minimum qualifications

for this role:
High school diploma a background in science (chemistry/biology) or the equivalent;
Relevant work experience;
Good knowledge and practice of GLP and work-related legislation, practices, and procedures; (asset);
Good knowledge of WHMIS 2015; (important asset)
Reading English is required. Bilingualism is preferable;
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
Meticulous attention to details;
Capacity to work with time constraints and adapt to change;
Practical knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Office and others).

Laval / Free parking / Near the subway Montmorency

Schedule:
Monday to Friday ; 8am to 4:15pm
Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week

About Safety Assessment

Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance.

From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market.

Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
