VP Senior Client Service Manager
***- The Apex Business Services team is currently looking for a VP Senior Client Service Manager. The Business Services team's core remit is to support Investment Advisors' Management Company Accounting needs. In addition, we opportunistically serve as fractional or seconded CFOs and Controllers at portfolio companies of our Investment Advisors. The Business Services team is looking for a highly motivated, self-starting, detail-oriented individual with impeccable client service standards.


Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
_

  • Prepare and oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Coordinate with a global team to consolidate and review preliminary/draft financial statements
  • Ensuring compliance with client directed accounting policies such as IFRS or US GAAP

Accounting Operations:
_

  • Ensure timely and accurate calculation of Management Accounting financial packages on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Oversee the daytoday accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and cash
  • Processing of revenue, payroll. expense, and TE entries
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.

Client_/Team_ Management:
_

  • Responding to client inquiries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure all deliverables are met on a timely and accurate basis
  • The willingness to work overtime and public holidays when required
  • Participate from time to time in special and ad hoc projects

Financial Analysis and Planning:
_

  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to client management to support decisionmaking processes
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with relevant stakeholders as required on a client by client basis
  • Evaluate financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend strategies for cost reduction and revenue enhancement

Compliance and Audit:
_

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards
  • Coordinate and facilitate the external audit process, liaising with auditors and providing necessary documentation
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to mitigate financial risks

Team Leadership and Development:
_

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the Business Services accounting team
  • Foster a collaborative and highperformance culture within the team
  • Identify training needs and provide professional development opportunities for team members

Qualifications / Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification is highly desirable but not required
  • Proven experience (58 years) in a seniorlevel corporate accounting role, preferably in a large organization or multinational company
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience in managing and leading a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights
  • Detailoriented with a high degree of accuracy and strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in using accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Xero, Accounts IQ, QuickBooks experience a plus but not required
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Integrity and ethics, maintaining confidentiality of financial information
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a global organizations as well as on their own initiative
