Position Overview:

Under general direction and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St.

Boniface General Hospital, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to a SBGH Program Director and/or Clinical Director (or delegate).


Experience:


  • Three (3) years related experience preferably in a hospital or other health care setting.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a recognized medical secretarial program, or;
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial or administrative secretarial program, plus successful completion of a recognized medical terminology course.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the hospital, may be considered in lieu of the above.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Keyboarding speed: 55 wpm.
  • Shorthand/Speedwriting skills are preferred.
  • Knowledge of University administrative procedures would be an asset.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with accuracy.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Mature, professional manner.
