The Sarnia manufacturing facility is the headquarters for ARLANXEO Canada Inc. with a Global Research & Development Centre for Butyl Rubber found in London, Ontario.

Focused on the production of synthetic rubber, the Sarnia facility is a major supplier to both domestic and international markets and employs over 300 employees.


Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain NORAM, this position works closely with Commercial Account Managers & Customer Service, TS&D, Logistics Procurement, Regional Supply Planning (IBP), Manufacturing, Quality and Accounting and Controlling teams.

The position heads a site team responsible for order fulfillment, raw material planning, customs and compliance, site warehouse logistics, and 3rd party logistics service providers.

Primary direct responsibility being detailed production planning, production scheduling for the Butyl Unit, finished product material assignment and allocation to customers, as well as managing a tolling agreement in respect to optimum grade sequence scheduling, material assignment, and comprehensive reporting.

The position manages off spec and scrap inventories for sale, as well as works closely with the unit to manage TBR inventories while supplying detailed quality parameter skid level for both to optimize consumption.

The position works closely with TS&D and the Global Technical Product Management Butyl to address, implement, and manage change to ensure customer needs are met.

In addition the Detail Scheduler and Logistics Manager manages the raw material planner, order fulfilment team, as well as the customs and compliance team.

The position participates in many customer and sustainability audits yearly and manages activities to ensure compliance.

The role includes oversight of export control and reporting, import clearance, anti-bribery, antitrust and competition, third-party agent vetting and management, supply chain security, and overall assessment and management trade regulatory risk and ensures that ARLANXEO Sarnia is in full legal compliance for its trade operations.


Responsibilities

  • To lead and direct a team of Supply Chain Specialists with responsibility for recruitment, performance review, training, and career development
  • To ensure raw materials/packaging availability ("MRP") and accurate inventory management by implementing efficient workflows, defined roles, key performance indicators (KPI's), and crosstraining in order fulfillment, materials & production planning
  • To ensure smooth running of outsourced warehouses, as well as accurate, ontime, complete order fulfillment/processing ("OTIF") according to customer requirements and internal standards
  • Develop, execute, and report on periodic audits relative to CBSA, CTPAT, PIP certifications and overall logistics' compliance obligations of legal entity.
  • Ensure that ARLANXEO Sarnia is in full legal compliance for all its trade operations.
  • To direct weekly detailed production scheduling by reviewing inventories, planned product availability and orders onhand (at quality code/packaging level) to ensure smooth production run and execution of S&OP plan
  • To oversee material monthend closing process, incl. inventory reconciliation and physical inventory balancing
  • To supervise raw material chartering activities (bulk shipments) by reviewing operational performances, sharing, and following up of regular meetings
  • To monitor performance levels of appointed 3rd part logistics service providers by establishing KPI's and organizing regular performance reviews
  • To steward resolution of transportation nonconformance, designated complaint resolver and reviewer for corrective action effectiveness
  • To support achievement of Business Unit's quality management system, ie. ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements
  • To manage budget and cost control for plant supply chain organization

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Distribution, Logistics, Business, Industrial Engineering or Business Administration
  • 35 years of experience required; 510 years of experience preferred.
