Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
Field Utility Coordinator to join our team Parsons / Colas Canada is adding a Field Coordinator to support the delivery of the Edmonton Valley Line West LRT Project.

The Coordinator works closely with the project team to coordinate the project to the satisfaction of the client, consistent with the costs, schedule, and contractual requirements.

Will be responsible for coordination of all production requirements related to concrete, including but not limited to safety, quality, administration, scheduling, cost controls, client/ subcontractor/ craft communication and management.

Heavy civil earthworks or LRT experience is required.


What You'll Be Doing:


  • Ensure the Construction is in full compliance with the Project Agreement, including matters relating to quality, safety, environment, and life cycle performance, such as Project's ECO Plan, Health and Safety Plan, and all applicable legislation.
  • Coordinate with the municipality for document approvals and permitting.
  • Coordinate with various third utility companies (ie. Epcor, Shaw, Telus, Fortis) for document approvals and permitting
  • Participate in developing and updating project schedules in consultation with the responsible Discipline/Scope Manager
  • Support the drafting of requests for proposals and construction tendering documentation.
  • Maintains project document control documentation including but not limited to formation and executing daily reports, RFIs, shop drawings, changes, quantity tracking and confirmation for monthly subcontractor billing, and daily labor timesheets.
  • Assists field supervision personnel with operational tasks including preparation of work plans and packages, scheduling updates, updating drawings, and supervision of subcontractor operations.
  • Coordinates with field operations to execute the plan according to schedule and addresses necessary field changes with appropriate Engineering functions.
  • Assists with implementing and monitoring Quality and Safety Plans, including participation in job site safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and safety training.
  • Assists in the preparation of purchase orders, subcontracts and generation of change orders and budgets.
  • Performs basic engineering calculations and assists in interpretations of drawings and specifications for field crews.
  • Requisitions and tracks material deliveries to the job site as required to meet schedule.
  • Performs other duties as required

What Required Skills You'll Bring:


  • Bachelor's Degree or postsecondary training in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 1 year Project Coordinator experience with a General Contractor on heavy civil construction projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, project teams and subtrades
  • Strong knowledge of construction specifications, methods and procedures
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, estimating and subcontracts
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
