Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
Environmental Site Supervisorto join our team In this role you will get to
work closely with a variety of professionals on multiple projects across a wide range of public and private sector clients.



Two positions are available:

- based out of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)**
What You'll Be Doing:This is primarily a field-based role where you will execute projects including, but not limited to, site supervision of environmental investigation and remediation programs, the collection of environmental data to support environmental site assessments (Monitoring programs, Phase I and Phase II ESAs), and fill and excess soil management on infrastructure redevelopment projects.


Your key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise subcontractors associated with environmental field programs, including Site Remediation programs (Environmental excavations and implementation of various insitu remediation techniques).
  • Oversee health and safety for Parsons' and subcontract staff on remediation and environmental investigation programs.
  • Support contract administration of remediation programs including tracking: schedule, size of excavation, tonnages of soils moving on and off site, amount of chemical injection, sub contractor's labour and equipment hours and any contract quantities associated with the project.
  • Work closely with project coordinators/managers, using your interpersonal and organizational skills, to communicate project data findings and timelines to ensure projects are completed on time and budget.
  • Complete monitoring and groundwater sampling programs utilizing a wide variety of field equipment.
  • Soil and sediment sample recovery, field testing, and documentation during drilling, test pitting and excavation activities.
  • Maintain excellent field notes, including safety forms, project field reports, and laboratory chainofcustody forms.
  • Operation of various types of field monitoring equipment (e.g. GPS, data loggers, survey level, combustible gas meters, etc.).
  • Always ensure health and safety policies are followed at all sites and on all projects.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:


  • Experience with supervising drilling, collecting and logging soil samples, collecting groundwater and surface water samples, and overseeing remediation.
  • Valid Canadian driver's license and access to personal vehicle
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to operate selfsufficiently and safely in the field
  • This work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; lifting; recurring bending or similar activities so willingness to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions should be expected
  • The ability to work on outoftown assignments for extended periods of time.
  • Oral communications skills and ability to operate selfsufficiently in the field.
  • Resourceful, quick thinking and handy, ability to solve technical problems in the field

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:


  • Certified as or ability to be certified as Environmental Technician (C.E.T)
  • 2+ years of applicable field experience as a field technician supporting environmental assessment / remediation and/or infrastructure redevelopment projects.
  • Experience with Designated and Hazardous Substance Surveys an Abatement
  • Experience with Excess Soils management
  • Academic and practical experience with soil classification
