About the Position:

Are you fully committed to environmental, health and safety standards?

Your primary responsibilities will include the following:

  • Plan monthly Smelter supply of copper-based concentrate.
  • Evaluate all potential new concentrates.
  • Act as a liaison between Operations, Metallurgical and Environment Departments.
  • Communicate needs to the various representatives of the Toronto Sales Group.
  • Make decisions and anticipate all necessary measures to achieve the planning objectives set by corporate management.
You will work closely with the Commercial Superintendent of Metallurgical Operations at both Horne and CCR sites.


More specifically, you will:

  • Analyze and optimize opportunities for concentrates feed.
  • Produce Smelter feed simulations in line with the corporate business strategy, based on various parameters.
  • Participate in metallurgical discussions regarding Smelter planning.
  • Share on an ongoing basis the interdepartmental feed issues and challenges.
  • Ensure development and improvement of plant balances in feed planning (precious metals and process impurities).
  • Manage followup of concentrate margins.
  • Work in collaboration with the various departments to ensure optimization of the products supplied and compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Ensure sound inventory management and carry out onsite and offsite inventory projections.
  • Calculate, report and communicate melt and anode production data on a weekly basis.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders to consolidate explanations if there are any discrepancies between planned and actual figures.
  • Communicate concentrate issues (sampling, material contamination, etc.) to the Toronto Sales Group.
  • Schedule and manage customer site visits.
  • These responsibilities will occasionally entail working weekends, evenings and public holidays. Overtime is governed by internal HR Rules. Skills

  • Integrating environment, health and safety standards as fundamental values
  • Bachelor's degree in metallurgical, process or chemical engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience in process engineering in the mining or metallurgical industry
  • Enjoy teamwork
  • Thoroughness and sound time management
  • Leadership and good communication skills to convey the issues
  • Proficiency in Office Suite

Languages:
Proficiency in French, English an asset
