Position Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a residential side loader truck to collect and dispose of waste in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Complete daily pre
- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, and report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.

  • Follow all company and industry safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including the number of pickups, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Load and unload waste and recycling containers onto the truck, and ensure that all waste is properly secured and transported to the appropriate disposal location.
  • Operate other equipment as needed, such as roll off trucks, front end loaders, and potentially long haul driving with an AZ license.
  • Other related duties as required or requested.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid DZ driver's license.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a side loader truck.
  • Experience operating roll off trucks and front end loaders is considered an asset.
  • AZ license is an asset.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and in a fastpaced environment.
  • Willingness to work early morning and/or late evening shifts, as well as weekends as needed.
