THE ROLE:


Reporting to the Senior Manager - Risk Control, NA Environmental, within the Fuel team, the Environment Manager, manages, analyzes, tracks, trends, costs, budgets, and coordinates environmental remediation, due diligence, and compliance and equipment upgrade projects.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Proactively analyzes a variety of data from various internal and external sources to track and trend all environmental projects, ensures all data, reporting, and correspondence is processed in full compliance with company Performance Standards, Provincial/ Federal regulations, and all information is properly documented in Titan environmental system.
  • Supports emergency spill response efforts by internal teams.
  • Coordinates/manages environmental site work with operational and fuel dispatch teams to minimize impacts to site operations.
  • Reviews and approves Scopes of Work, manages project accounting, internal accrual cost to close estimates, and approves project invoices via Laserfiche invoice system.
  • Works daily to minimize budgetary impacts through ongoing development of technical expertise and regulatory knowledge base. Analyzes the cost of projects to develop solutions to better manage all activities and related costs.
  • Works with all stakeholders to coordinate required closure assessments with appropriate consulting firms.
  • Maintains historical documentation in internal systems.
  • Conducts trend / risk analysis reports to determine areas of opportunity for company management; provides a variety of data and recommendations to assist the management team in developing strategy to lower company exposure by proactively addressing potential risk rather than reacting to events that occur.
  • Monitors other corporate systems (e.g., Fuel Accounting/inventory records, Gasoline Maintenance, and dispatching systems) on a daily basis to identify potential liabilities; collects and analyzes data to ensure that all suspected and confirmed release documentation and followup has occurred and is in full compliance with standards.
  • Assists in developing practices for proper disposal of investigation derived waste as well as petroleum contaminated media from maintenance activities.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with supervisory personnel, coworkers, consultants, government representatives and other business professionals; resolves issues or requests using Company policy interpretation or knowledge of Federal and Provincial law; consults with supervisor about legal questions, obligations, policy interpretations and planned actions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:


Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree; or equivalent combination of formal education, training, and experiencebased learning.

Experience:


  • 27 years of environmental consulting experience, including hydrocarbon remediation and environmental due diligence, and well and UST system compliance and maintenance.

Knowledge and Skills:


  • Intermediate math and analytical skills essential. Ability to effectively analyze and evaluate information to make decisions, solve problems and achieve goals.
  • Ability to read, listen, understand, and communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to research and collect essential information from relevant sources and finding ways to verify, organize, classify, evaluate, and document the data.

Language Skills:


  • Bilingualism is mandatory (French and English) in both written and spoken languages, as the person will be required to serve Englishspeaking regions.
