Description:


Reporting to the Art Rental and Sales Service and Boutique Manager, the Art Gallery Receptionist serves Art Gallery clients, assists the Manager during events, informs visitors of current activities, and conducts various office duties.

The Art Rental and Sales Service and Boutique Receptionist serves Art Rental and Sales Service and Boutique clients, performs tasks relating to the sale and rental of artwork and handicrafts, and carries out various clerical tasks.


Reporting to the Manager - Cultural Activities, the Host or Hostess greets the public during events, helps instructors or facilitators during activities, and sometimes takes part in cultural workshop registration sessions.

The Front Desk Receptionist serves clients at the Stewart Hall front desk, assists in ticket sales and registration for various activities, and carries out other clerical tasks.

The mission of the Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department is to improve quality of life by promoting accessibility, participation, and integration of all citizens through the provision of excellent community, cultural, sports and recreational facilities, activities, and services.


General responsibilities and goals:


The Art Gallery Receptionist performs the following duties:

  • Greet the public.
  • Inform visitors of all activities at Stewart Hall and give them an overview of the site's history.
  • Keep an eye on the premises and artworks.
  • Help perform various tasks during exhibitions (serving food and beverages, etc.), lectures, and other events at the Art Gallery and in the Kids' Corner.
  • Keep daily updated records of the number of visitors.
  • Perform various office duties at the Cultural Centre front desk (Word, Excel, direct mail, filing, photocopying, etc.)
  • Carry out any other related task.
The Art Rental and Sales Service and Boutique Receptionist performs the following duties:

  • Greet and serve Art Library and Gift Shop clients.
  • Inform visitors of all activities at Stewart Hall and give them an overview of the site's history.
  • Perform tasks relating to the sale and rental of artwork and handicrafts.
  • Keep an eye on the premises and artworks.
  • Keep daily updated records of the number of visitors to the Reading Room and the Art Rental and Sales Service and Boutique.
  • Help showcase the Art Rental and Sales Service and Boutique.
  • Help inventory and display Boutique goods.
  • Perform various office duties at the Cultural Centre front desk (Word, Excel, direct mail, filing, photocopying, etc.)
  • Perform any other related task.

The Host or Hostess performs the following duties:

  • Greet the public during various Cultural Centre events, distribute brochures or programmes, answer questions, guide and direct visitors, etc.
  • Inform visitors of all activities at Stewart Hall and give them an overview of the site's history.
  • During concerts and performances, sell or distribute tickets or passes, greet the public, and complete ticket office reports.
  • Assist facilitators at events, and briefly help set up and remove equipment where applicable.
  • Occasionally help register people for cultural activities.
  • Keep an eye on the premises and activities.
  • Perform various clerical tasks.
  • Perform any other related task.

The Front Desk Receptionist performs the following duties:

  • Greet and serve clients at the front desk (distribute and sell tickets and passes, register people for activities, provide general information, etc.)
  • Inform visitors of all activities at Stewart Hall and give them an overview of the site's history.
  • Perform duties relating to the LUDIK system (registrations, sales, batch balancing, etc.).
  • Keep ticket office records up to date.
  • Perform various office duties at the Cultural Centre front desk (Word, Excel, direct mail, filing, photocopying, etc.)

Job requirements:


Other requirements:


  • Bilingual, with good knowledge of English and French grammar
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Knowledge of the arts and culture community (an asset)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, autonomous, good team player, and a knack for excellent client service

Schedule 1:


Tuesday: 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and variable schedule during the week

or


Schedule 2:


From September to May:


Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.


Thursday: 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.
