Job Description

  • Are you a Level 1 Dental Assistant with HARP certification looking for a fabulous office? Do you want to expand your skills? We are looking for a Level 2 DA, that also wants to work PT in Dental Administration and we will train you. I'm #hiring for a FT permanent position in London, Ontario. It's an amazing opportunity for a Dental Assistant to join our practice.
Attention to detail and commitment and dedication to working hours are a must.

Wanting to expand your DA skills and learn a new role in the dental office a must, Level 1,HARP certification, IPAC compliance knowledge are also an asset.

Experience:

Dental Assisting: 3 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:


  • Certified Dental Assistant (required) Level 1

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour
  • Clinical chairside assisting duties for a variety of dental procedures such as, but not limited to: general dentistry, endodontics, surgery
  • Radiographs (as prescribed by the Dentist) or dental impressions as required
  • Lab duties, as required (impressions, fabrication of mouthguards, etc.)
  • Sterilization and disinfection with required reporting
  • Ensure that the dentist you are assisting has the necessary dental supplies on hand to perform dental procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms in accordance with best practices of infection control
  • Thorough understanding and respect of health and safety requirements
  • Assist dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary
  • Assist in updating and maintaining client dentalrecords and appointments
  • Ensure all treatment consent forms have been completed and gathered
  • Provide postoperative care instructions as required
  • Ensuring all clinical and storage areas are clean and organized
  • Monitor, maintain/order dental supply inventory on a weekly and monthly basis as required
  • Identify gaps in clinical schedule and make recommendations to the Office Manager
  • Collaborate with colleagues during downtime in schedule
  • Attend continuing education events from time to time and as required

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Proven experience as Dental Assistant or a willingness to learn
  • Graduate from applicable Dental Assisting Program (Level 1) and diploma
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail, organized and reliable
  • Additional certification or training is an asset
