1 ‐ Part Time (.4) ‐ Inpt Biller

Finance Patient Billings
Under the general direction of the Coordinator, Patient Billing, the Biller is responsible for all clerical and processing

duties, patient, insurance or external agency contact in order to successfully submit insurance claims, client bills

and/or bills directly to the patient for any self pay charges related to their stay or visit. Billers initiate any

prepayments, deposits or interim payments as may be required and are responsible for the completeness and

accuracy of all charges on the patient account.

The Biller must have a view to maximize hospital revenue and a special emphasis to maximize preferred

accommodation revenue for the hospital. The critical success factor for this position is the timeliness and expediency

in obtaining complete and accurate billing information and authorizations in order to ensure no loss of revenue from

accounts within their responsibility due to required billing elements.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interview skills, including pleasant disposition, tact and ability to
communicate effectively with patients and others

  • Proven speed, accuracy and proficiency in performing calculations and keyboarding
  • Excellent organizational skills for task completion and prioritization to meet deadlines under pressure and achieve
performance standards related to billing

  • Sound knowledge of private insurance plans, other insuring agencies and experience with hospital computer
systems required, with previous billing and/or collections experience an asset

  • Must be bondable

Salary Range:
$24.126 to 24.699
