What you will be doing:
- Consistently offering thoughtful, professional, and proactive guest service
- Having full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions, menu items, garnishes, and preparation methods
- Assisting guests with menu items in an informative, engaging and helpful way
- Mixing drinks and craft cocktails to standard while controlling and monitoring inventory
- Actively seeking dietary restrictions and allergies from guests and communicating to kitchen staff accordingly
- Handling guest concerns swiftly and graciously, offering a remarkable recovery and a commitment to always improve
- Ensuring service essentials, quality and service standards are met throughout the guest experience, from arrival to departure
- Setting up mise en place, side stations, bar and bar settings according to standards
- Supporting colleagues during service to ensure a consistent guest experience throughout restaurant, including running food, refreshing beverages, and clearning/resetting tables when needed
- Setting furniture in bar and lounge area in consistent, clean, and inviting way
- Ensuring accuracy in billing, promotions, and loyalty program offerings
- Following all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Your experience and skills include:
- Service focused personality is essential with at least one year experience bartending in a highvolume, upscale restaurant
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment preferred
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problemsolving skills
- Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities at once
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
- Highly responsible and reliable with impeccable grooming and professionalism
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, cocktails, and specialty coffees
- Current Serving It Right Certification
- Ability to speak and understand English with professional working proficiency
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and rotating shifts
- Legally eligible to work in Canada (the Hotel is unable to assist applicants in obtaining Canadian work authorization)
