Job description


Kinderbrook Montessori School (KMS) Supervisor is an individual with recognized Montessori Training from either the Association Montessori International (AMI) or a Montessori Teacher training institution accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE), the individual is an experienced and exceptional RECE who provides supervision and leadership to ensure the nurturing care and education to young children in a childcare environment following the Montessori Philosophies.

They will lead in accordance with the goals, curriculum, philosophy, and policies of the organization. She/he will be responsible for strict compliance with the CCEYA, the Ministry of Education.

The KMS Supervisor primary Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures the center is presentable in terms of cleanliness, updated communication boards, etc.
  • Ensures and facilitates the smooth functioning of all aspects of the centre in order to best serve children and families
  • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement creative child programs that are age appropriate for both Montessori and Play Based Curriculum
  • Ensure that the center complies with the licensing requirements of Ministry of Education, Child Care Early Years Act and the Municipal criteria at all times.
  • Responsible for maximizing enrollment through promotions, marketing, and advertising the center and programs.
  • Manage the logístical elements of staffing such as organizing staffing requirements and schedules, maintaining accurate and uptodate staff records, and scheduling staff meetings
  • Plan and execute a daily schedule that adheres to our philosophy and includes quiet activities, indoor and outdoor play.
  • Develops and enforces programming for special events and guides staff to inject creativity into their programming
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships and regular communication with parents and the wider community
  • Maintain accurate records on each child including daily reports, attendance records, medication and weekly observations
  • Stay up to date with information about food restrictions and allergies in classroom and center.
  • Responsible for daytoday administration and paperwork required by regulatory bodies
  • Promote staff performance through frequent formal and informal constructive feedback and staff evaluations
  • Assists in the recruitment and coordinates the selection, hiring and orientation of all new staff to the center, within centerapproved processes and policies
  • Works closely with the center's Management Team to ensure the efficient administrative operation of the center
  • Communicates key messages on decisions made by the Management Team to centre staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Represents the centre professionally by participating on committees in the childcare community
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Management Team
  • Available to work various shifts between the hours of 6:30 am and 6:30 pm
  • Able to work within the needs of the centre when required due to onsite emergency, staff shortage, staff meetings, management meetings, etc.

Qualifications

  • Must be a RECE and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Be a previous supervisor or assistant supervisor for at least 2 years and worked with an enrollment of 50 plus
  • Experience working with both Montessori and Play based Curriculum preferred.
  • Previous Classroom Teaching experience is an asset.
  • Ability to explore and use social media platforms for marketing and advertisement is an asset.
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level "C"
  • Police Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen within the past 6 months.
  • 2Step TB test
  • Food Handling Certification is an asset
  • Demonstrated solid knowledge of the CCEYA and affiliated regulations
  • Superior interpersonal skills with a high degree of initiative and dedication

The salary will be dependent on experience and qualification


Salary:
From $50, $55,000 per year + Bonus


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
