Site Superintendent (Patten Homes)

Location:
Ottawa Area

Patten Homes is the home building division of Thomas Cavanagh Construction.

For more than 25 years, Patten Homes has been exceeding the hopes and dreams of our clients by blending style and functionality in the quality homes we build.

Patten Homes is looking to increase their construction volume and will be opening, and building, several new communities over the next few years.

As we grow, we will continue to focus on quality as well as providing an exceptional client experience.

We are currently building a Team of experienced individuals to help make Patten Homes the Builder of Choice in Ottawa and surrounding areas.


The
Site Superintendent is responsible for daily on-site management of residential construction projects including subcontractors and Patten Homes' own forces while maintaining client and trade partner relationships.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and manage all onsite construction activities, including trades, subcontractors, workers, and ensuring compliance with building code, safety regulations and project documents.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to other site staff.
  • Conduct all work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) laws and regulations.
  • Adhere to construction schedules and budget.
  • Manage logistics, equipment, and materials.
  • Work with the ERP system for scheduling and work order approvals.
  • Responsible for proactively identifying and raising issues and risks to management and developing solutions.
  • Coordinate inspections with municipal building inspectors
  • Provide input and participate in construction and preconstruction meetings.
  • Maintain high quality control standards during the construction process.
  • Participate in deficiency list resolution.
  • Provide Managers with progress reports and feedback.
  • Work within the ERP system to ensure accurate.
  • Meet with Homeowners, as needed, and communicate effectively to address concerns and/ or educate them on the building process.
  • Lead subtrade meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team's ongoing development and progression.
  • Maintain active quality control program to ensure compliance with the Patten Standards.
  • Engage and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure common goals are achieved and corporate interests are kept in mind.

Requirements:


  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects in the production residential construction industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Building Code, Construction Law and Tarion requirements.
  • Site Superintendent training is considered an asset.
  • Skilled traded certification is considered an asset.
  • A passion for interpersonal relationships, selfmotivation, and leadership development.
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
