Full-time Outside Landscaping & Maintenance Lead Hand to join our Residential Rental team


Note:
Full-time 40 hours a week - Monday to Friday no Saturdays 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during Spring, Summer & Fall

About the Role:


Reporting directly to the Outside Maintenace Supervisor, the Outside Landscaping & Maintenance Lead Hand will perform outside maintenance duties and assist the Outside Maintenance Supervisor in leading the outside maintenance staff and operations.


As an Outside Maintenance Lead Hand, you will:

  • Supervise a crew of groundskeeping workers involved in the exterior maintenance of the Sifton owned grounds in the rental portfolio.
  • Participate in the various outdoor maintenance activities and tasks and complete work orders and necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Operate and maintain various types of equipment and light duty utility vehicles including, but not limited to mowers, trimmers and assorted landscape tools, achieving established quality standards Ensure all equipment is safely and properly operated, and that the work which is being performed is completed to quality standards.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience
  • A thorough knowledge of plant materials, pruning techniques and common landscaping cutting and maintenance practices.
  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in landscape maintenance, i.e. retaining walls, concrete repairs, drainage, redevelopment of gardens, snow removal and related activities.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory or team lead position.
  • Graduate of a recognized horticultural/landscape technician program preferred.
  • Strong team player with excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform physical job functions during all weather conditions.
  • A valid driver's license and clean drivers abstract.
  • Dependable transportation.
