We have an opening for a
FortisBC Design Build Program Manager to be accountable for project execution and technical quality of the electrical design build team's activities at our
Kelowna location.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop, modify, and improve Design Build procedures/processes as required
  • Peer/stage reviews of redline, IFR and IFC design packages
  • Peer reviews of Design Build estimates and customer proposals
  • Ensuring data integrity in DB design, construction, and record drawings
  • Provide direction to technical and support staff regarding best design practices and standards updates
  • Technical mentorship and development of Engineers, Technologists, Drafting and Project Managers on the team
  • Work with the team to seek out, develop, and maintain relationships with developers and clients
  • Project level quoting, planning, design, and project management as required
  • Design coordination with customers, municipal authorities, other utilities & various project stakeholder
  • Offsite meetings and site check as required.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:


  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a professional engineer (P.Eng. / P.L.Eng.) with EGBC (The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia)
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to develop business relationships conducted in a professional manner
  • Strong collaborative skills and willingness to liaise with other disciplines (marketing, drafting, construction, survey, and civil) to ensure projects are accurate, compliant, ontime and onbudget
  • Demonstrated selfmotivation and drive for improvement
  • Class 5 driver's license

A few qualifications that would help you succeed:

  • Utility distribution design build experience
  • Street lighting design experience
  • Familiarity with construction and land development
  • Experience working in the electric utility or related engineering environment, ideally in design and cost estimating of electrical distribution projects
  • Experience with AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, AGI32 and MS Office
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
