Alberta Health & Safety/Quality Manager in our
Edmonton, AB. This is a full-time, permanent position that reports directly to the General Manager.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Work to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, regulation and corporate health & safety policies, procedures and practices.
- Establish annual targets to reduce incidents, risk and nonconformances and measure performance against established targets.
- Provide accurate reporting and metrics to support business and safety initiatives.
- Communicate and implement Corporate Health & Safety policies and programs; update and recommend Health & Safety rules, procedures, policies and manuals.
- Manage and maintain Work Safe AB Certification and perform internal audits on a regular basis to evaluate compliance.
- Participate during inspections and external quality audits and manage followup process.
- Monitor incident or accident investigations to ensure they are adequately addressed and closed.
- Participate in the maintenance of ISO certification.
- Ensure quality policies, procedures and practices are maintained, valid and uptodate and perform regular quality audits to evaluate level of compliance with Quality Programs.
- Participate in developing ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- 7 years experience in H&S Management within a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- Postsecondary certificate or diploma in Health, Safety & Quality or relevant postsecondary training.
- Certified BCCSA, COR Internal Auditor, CRSP or CHSC designation is an asset.
- Experience in H&S regulations/issues/committees.
- Passion for quality, safety and continuous improvement plans.
- Effective communication skills and ability to develop and implement training programs.
- Self-Starter with a desire for releasing a quality product and the proven ability to lead and take initiative, work independently and meet project deadlines.
- Exceptional analytical, time management and organizational skills.
- Must have a teamoriented approach to problem solving.
- Working knowledge of measuring equipment, blueprints and technical information.
- Ability to lead change management while inspiring confident and enthusiasm within a team.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
