Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Project Accounting, the Project Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of project accounting


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Accounts Payable; review, organize, track, and process a highvolume of vendor invoices ensuring accuracy, documentation, and authorization
  • Coordinate signing of cheques
  • Review and setup of contracts and commitments for assigned projects
  • Respond to queries from project managers and other team members inside and outside of accounting
  • Assist in the preparation of various reconciliations including credit cards, commissions, contracts, holdbacks, and chargebacks on a regular basis, and, investigate discrepancies
  • Perform support functions including filing, scanning and other ad hoc requests
  • Ensure that the Policies and Procedures of the Accounting Department are adhered to as well as all regulatory requirements
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all team members inside and outside of accounting at all levels within the organization
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by Management

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Education: Postsecondary diploma or degree and working towards an accounting designation
  • Experience: 1 + years' accounting experience in a development and construction accounting environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to meet tight timelines while managing multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Internal control oriented
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willing to take on new tasks and projects with a team based focus
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced work environment

Work Schedule
This full time position works 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday and is located in downtown Vancouver.
