Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Project Accounting, the Project Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of project accounting
Primary responsibilities include:
- Accounts Payable; review, organize, track, and process a highvolume of vendor invoices ensuring accuracy, documentation, and authorization
- Coordinate signing of cheques
- Review and setup of contracts and commitments for assigned projects
- Respond to queries from project managers and other team members inside and outside of accounting
- Assist in the preparation of various reconciliations including credit cards, commissions, contracts, holdbacks, and chargebacks on a regular basis, and, investigate discrepancies
- Perform support functions including filing, scanning and other ad hoc requests
- Ensure that the Policies and Procedures of the Accounting Department are adhered to as well as all regulatory requirements
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all team members inside and outside of accounting at all levels within the organization
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by Management
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Postsecondary diploma or degree and working towards an accounting designation
- Experience: 1 + years' accounting experience in a development and construction accounting environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to meet tight timelines while managing multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Internal control oriented
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Willing to take on new tasks and projects with a team based focus
- Ability to work in a fastpaced work environment
Work Schedule
This full time position works 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday and is located in downtown Vancouver.
