    The RoleThe Security Analyst plays a key supportive role in operating, managing, and implementing IT security solutions to uphold the security of vital information assets and enhance the ongoing development of the CWB Group Information Security Management System (ISMS).

    By utilizing relevant technologies and adhering to information security protocols and procedures, the Security Analyst offers assistance to the AVP, Security Operations focusing on technical operations, incident escalation, and policy alignment.

    ResponsibilitiesCLIENTS PILLAR (weighting 20%)

    Analyze business requirements and needs related to information security, suggesting technical implementations and remedies.

    Monitor CWB Group infrastructure to ensure essential security updates, patches, and preventive measures are in place as outlined in CWB Group policies.

    Conduct security assessments and audits following established configuration guidelines and protocols.

    SUPPORT PILLAR (weighting 70%)Provide reports on pertinent information security metrics as requested by the AVP, Security OperationsConduct intrusion detection analysis and vulnerability assessments for a proactive and timely response to security incidents.

    Enhance, streamline, execute, and back the patch and vulnerability management process for the CWB Group's computing environment.
    Offer insights on potential vulnerabilities and aid in prioritizing, executing, and validating mitigation efforts.

    Enforce policies, standards, and procedures for information security and access controls based on industry best practices and under the Information Services leadership group's guidance.

    Continuous research to keep abreast of industry cyber threats, trends, and advancements.

    Administer the support, monitoring, maintenance, and sustainability of the underlying security infrastructure and technologies supporting the service level objectives outlined in the service catalogue.

    Create and maintain updated operational, installation, configuration, and upgrade documentation for security infrastructure technologies within defined parameters.

    Monitor and update security infrastructure and technologies to ensure the latest malware prevention, signatures, heuristic detection, content analysis, and incident identification.

    Swiftly address incident tickets and service requests from internal users and support teams, following established procedures for problem, incident, request, change configuration, and release management.
    Contribute to business continuity planning and disaster recovery planning.

    Skills and competencies to drive your successEducationCollege diploma or university degree in Computing Science field.
    Professional ExperienceMinimum of one (1) year experience in information technology or information security domain.

    Familiarity with information security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, COBIT, NIST Cyber Security Framework, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP).Understanding of information security technologies including Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) systems, network and application firewalls, intrusion prevention, web proxies, encryption, vulnerability management, public key infrastructure (PKI), malware prevention.

    Experience with enterprise Microsoft Server technology infrastructure.
    Knowledge of network environments and networking concepts and/or services including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory.
    Demonstrated ability to research information security issues and technologies as needed.
    Experience utilizing SQL, Linux, UNIX, or shell scripting (e.g. PowerShell) is beneficial.
    Experience in the financial services sector is a bonus.
    Personal CompetenciesEffective written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.
    Ability to exercise critical judgement to make decisions and resolve problems of varying levels of complexity, uncertainty, and risk.
    Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
