Job Summary:


Reporting to the Senior Geologist, the Geologist will support the summer drill program at the Schaft Creek project located in Northwestern British Columbia.

During the program the Geologist will work on a rotational basis in a remote camp. The beginning and end of the program may include remote or office-based work.

This is a seasonal Geologist position responsible for project level work, including collecting and processing geologic data to support the requirements of the 2023 drill program.

It is anticipated the position will be temporary position from approximately May 2023 to October 2023 that could potentially extend depending on performance and program results.


Responsibilities:


  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Contribute to the safe, productive, and costeffective delivery of the 2023 Schaft Creek Drill Program through effective and timely:
  • Geological and Geotechnical logging of diamond drill core, including correct identification of lithology, alteration mineralogy, mineralization, and sample interval selection
  • Collection of appropriate geotechnical, geochemical, and geometallurgical samples from core
  • Liaison with core technicians, core cutters, drilling contractors and engineering consultants
  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork between all project stakeholders, encourage cooperation and open communication
  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork across all constituents and stakeholders and encourage cooperation and open communication
  • Maintain and develop professional competencies by keeping abreast of technical advances and expanding personal technical knowledge
  • Contribute to the planning of projects by collecting and interpreting field observations and suggesting possible future action steps

Qualifications:


  • B.Sc. in Geology or a related discipline and hold or qualify for Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) or GeoscientistinTraining (G.I.T.) status with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
  • A minimum of 1 year of geoscience experience, including exposure to mineral exploration in greenfields and/or brownfields environments.
  • Specific experience in core logging is a strong asset.
  • Specific experience working on porphyry copper projects is an asset.
  • Strong mineral identification skills.
  • Understanding of porphyry copper deposit formation model.
  • Results oriented with excellent observational, organizational, and decisionmaking skills.
  • Able to work a rotation schedule and live onsite in a remote camp environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent spoken and written English language skills required.
  • Valid Occupational First Aid
  • Level 1 certificate with Transportation Endorsement.
  • Can manage one's own time, sets clear objectives and monitors progress and results. Is aware of personal limitations and seeks ways to improve, is aware of how actions affect others.
  • Exercises good listening skills and clearly communicates outcomes with others. Uses concise language to eliminate ambiguity.
  • Collaborates with others to develop new ideas and shares responsibility in project deliverables.
