Job Purpose:


To lead and manage the HR department, providing guidance and support to management and staff in all aspects of human resources.

The Director of HR will contribute strategically to achieve organizational goals through effective HR planning and implementation.

Position Description:

Leadership & Strategy:_

  • Lead, grow, and develop the Keller Human Resource Department.
  • Review and revise the longterm HR strategy based on business needs, establishing tangible actions to accomplish them.
  • Develop and support an Environmental, Social, and Governance strategy.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to create a culture centered on Keller's Values.

Employee Development & Performance Management:_

  • Create employee development streams to ensure a clear path of growth for employees.
  • Lead the performance review process by facilitating formal meetings and engaging in ongoing informal discussions.
  • Suggest improvements to the business based on feedback from performance reviews and additional discussions.
  • Conduct organizationwide culture and morale analysis in reference to organizational performance.

Compensation & Benefits:_

  • Conduct regular reviews of the compensation structure based on performance metrics within the business.
  • Continuously review the Keller Benefit Package to update current offerings or add new services.

Recruitment & Staffing:_

  • Oversee recruitment and assist with recruiting executive management roles.
  • Responsible for staff planning and outlining succession strategies.
  • Work with postsecondary institutions to create student programs and a hiring pipeline.

Policy & Compliance:_

  • Ensure all corporate policies are up to date and consistent with legal corporate responsibilities.
  • Communicate policy changes as required to all Keller employees.
  • Review, support, and facilitate recommendations for employment terminations.

Conflict Resolution & Relationship Management:_

  • Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances.
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Develop relationships and work with consultants, attorneys, training specialists, and other thirdparty organizations.
  • Create meaningful relationships and partnerships with organizations within the community.

Administration & Budgeting:_

  • Develop and monitor an annual budget that includes Human Resources services, employee recognition, corporate events, and administration.
  • Support the planning of corporate events throughout the year to engage all Keller staff.
  • Collaborate with Yardstick Technologies on IT needs in the office and field.
  • Execute company satisfaction meetings with key Keller employees.

Employment Requirements and Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Manager or Director.
  • Postsecondary education in human resources or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment and labour laws.
  • CPHR Designation.
  • Proven ability to manage change and create innovative HR solutions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop cooperative working relationships.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and computer skills.
