YMCA BC provides services in health, fitness & aquatics, child care, camping, employment & community services to over 150,000 participants annually.


Nature & Scope:

This is a high-output, deadline-driven position.

The manager will have knowledge in two or more of the following areas:

graphic design, photography, website development, virtual services and content delivery, e-learning course creation, social media advertising and/or social media community development.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement targeted marketing and communications strategies to support the growth of YMCA at Home and YMCA Ignite platforms.
  • Support the development and creation of elearning courses as required by our clients.
  • Support in shaping the value proposition of YMCA at Home and its key products.
  • Edit digital and print assets, video, and web content.
  • Monitor analytics and consumer reaction of YMCA at Home using website and social media analytics.
  • Provides YMCA brand guidance and ensures compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:


  • A degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in two or more of the following areas: graphic design, photography, website development, virtual services and content delivery, elearning course creation, marketing, social media advertising and/or social media community development.
  • Strong proficiency with one or more of the following platforms**:Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premier Pro, Articulate 360, Absorb, Squarespace, and/or Microsoft Office 36
  • Experience with marketing and communications projects.
  • Strong oral communication and exemplary writing skills, including copywriting, promotional writing, business writing, web, social media, and editing.
  • Leadership experience and ability to lead teams, including virtual teams
  • Collaborative with a customerfocused, positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • A selfstarter with the ability to initiate projects and see them through to completion.
  • Ability to adapt and work through ambiguity, changing priorities and juggle multiple demands with competing timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and decisions and create action plans based on information discovered.
  • Creative problem solver, with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Experience producing materials by working with designers and print/production vendors.
